Parties at the North Shore Children’s Museum Offer Customizable Birthday Options in Peabody
by Liz Holden Boatwright
If you’re looking for a place to host a child’s birthday party in the Peabody area, the North Shore Children’s Museum offers a great option. Aimed at kids between 2 and 8 years old, we provide several party options to meet your needs. Birthday parties are released in three to four month blocks, and party bookings for October 2024 through January 2025 will be available beginning at 12 p.m. ET on August 1, 2024.
On Friday evenings from 4 to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to noon, you can rent out the entire museum for a private event. During this two-hour block, the museum is open just to you and your guests. This gives attendees full access to all of our exhibits, which include our glow in the dark Outer Space room; imaginary play rooms set up as a diner, a grocery store, and a doctor’s office; a softly-lit sensory space; and our Gross Motor Room Jr., which provides a safe place for babies and young toddlers to explore.
On Saturdays from noon to 2 p.m., we offer semi-private events, where the museum is open to the public but the party room is reserved exclusively for you and your guests and the museum’s ticket capacity is lower than usual. Both options give you a two-hour party block, which is typically broken into 75 minutes of free play in the museum followed by 45 minutes in the party room. In addition, every party booking includes 15 minutes before the party and 15 minutes after for setup and cleanup.
Each party allows up to 40 people, including the hosts. For an additional $100, we can accommodate up to 50 people.
Party hosts are responsible for setting up their own decorations and providing food and drinks, which allows you to fully customize your event to match your child’s tastes and interests. Whether your child loves a certain character or wants a theme such as outer space or princesses, our flexible setup allows you to make that happen! We also have a list of nearby Peabody restaurants that offer a 10 percent discount on all catering orders for parties at the museum. Alcohol is not allowed on the premises.
Parties must be booked at least one week in advance, but we recommend booking early – reservations fill quickly! You can learn more about birthday parties at the North Shore Children’s Museum here.
