What You Need to Know about School & Group Field Trips

Field trips are offered on Mondays and Tuesdays in 2-hour blocks. The museum is closed to the public on these days, so field trip participants have the entire museum to themselves! Groups of 40-80 students/chaperones tend to work best, with a suggested ratio of children:adults of 5:1 or less.

What to Expect

Upon arrival, your group will be greeted by our Programs Manager, who will gather the children and share a bit about the museum, guidelines for engaging with the exhibits, and help chaperones break the children into groups. You’ll then have the opportunity to explore the museum at your own pace. We recommend taking groups of 4-6 children room-by-room, spending 5-10 minutes in each space. In addition, our large party room can be set up for snack or lunch time, if desired.
